BUDGET dan TIPS

Sempena birthday anak i yg sulung awal bulan march19 baru nie, terfikir nak ajak suami jalan2 luar semenanjung. xdela luar malaysia...hehe, disebabkan i dan anak2 xpernah sampai sarawak lagi, lagi i pernahla ke sana. so, i start planned utk ke sarawak. last minute jugak, bulan 1 kot selepas celebrated birthday my sweet litte girl, kyra kat swiss garden hotel, melaka.

so, kitaorg yer budget ke kuching, sarawak utk 4 hari 3 mlm. Actually, kalau just nk cover kuching cukup je 3 hari 2 mlm. tp, sbb ngn anak2 so, travel santai jer. tambah lak ada si kyra yg 2 tahun nie. lg lak kena consider dia yer nap time. and then anak2 yg lagi 3 orang tue pn nk rehat2 gak.

Budget Kuching, Sarawak 

1. Ticket flight (Airasia) - RM 1249.  tambah luggage pergi 30 kg  RM158, balik 35 kg RM111. Kira sorang RM208

2. Parking KLIA2, RM46/day = RM 184, kitaorg malas nk parking kat LTCP (long term car park) RM32/day sbb first time travel jauh beramai, so beg byk gitu. packing xberapa expert lg...kahkah.

3. breakfast kat KLIA2 - kluang coffee....RM70. Actually xperlu pun sbb flight kitaorg kul 11am and dah order nasi lemak pak nasser dlm flight. sama jer cost kalau breakfast kat flight. membazir di situ. tp budak2 makan suap so, habis makanan. syukur.

4. Car rental RM 630 - Just Car Rental Kuching Sarawak. Based on survey done, this is this cheaper option. RM150 for Alza with late return as our retun flight to KL is at 9pm. Added RM15/hr for addtional hour. but as we booked more than 3 days, got another discount. Total car rental cost = RM 465. Ada deposit RM50 dan akan dipulangkan bila return car nanti.

5. Accommodation for 4 days 3 night RM 700 - Hotel Margherita (9-10 March 19) and Vivacity Megamall condo (10-12march19).

6. Kampung budaya Sarawak - RM 210. adult ticket RM60 and kids 2years and above RM30. Luckily, i dont have to pay for kyra as the ticketman said her birthday. save RM30...fuhhh

7. Cat museum.....forgot, maybe RM8.

8. Souvenir.....around RM 400 for kek lapis (my fav cake), ikan terubuk masin, key chain, carry bag and kain batik.

9. my husband bought a new bigger bag which cost us RM 400. he said to prepare for another trip😀

10. Meals...hmmm, this one cannot estimate...i think we ate 4 times a day maybe. haha...kids always request for food if they feel hungry. so, no saving on this.

Total trip to kuching, Sarawak for 4 days and 3 nights = RM 3143 without meal cost. if plus food, might be around RM4000. not so cheap ya, next time need to be particular with money spend. This cost is plus RM 165 alza mirror replacement. while we were eating our breakfast at Kopi O'Corner. parked the car at the back of the restaurant, done eating surprised found out the front passenger mirror was broke down. suspect because i left my back bag. he took my husband battery bank. fuhh, so relief that i do not left my purse. u know what, the kitchen lady keep going at the back as the kitchen is the entrance to other door, suspect this robbery was desperately looking for money.

Food recommendation; Mee kolok, Laksa Sarawak, Mee Jawa, Ayam bakar/pansuh

Souvenir : if your visit is Saturday and Sunday, please go to Medan Niaga Satok which now known as Medan Niaga Kubah Ria to see the real Sarawak products and cheap souvenir. Bought sarawak cloth bag for RM30 for two which at Kuching Waterfront the price is RM28 for one. And the key chains also cheap than waterfront area. however if you're looking for kain baik, better buy it at waterfront souvenir shops due to it more choices and cheaper there. Bought kain batik kain lembut tue RM19/psc compared to Kubah Ria RM22/pcs.

Kek Lapis : Recommend Dayang Dayang's Kek Lapis due to its moist. definitely cant compared to the others brand. the famous brand is Mira Cake Lapis and Dayang Salhah. You can but it at Kg Boyan or Kubah Ria. Kg boyan is accessible by boat or drive. it just like a round. many shops sell kek lapis and ikan terubuk. they will pack nicely suit to bring in the flight.

Car rental : Just Rental Car Kuching Sarawak. search at FB. U will find it for comparison.

Accommodation : Suggest to stay at Waterfront kuching. while doing the hotel comparison, check on the near attractions location. based on my survey, recommended hotel based on rating as follows;

1. Waterfront Hotel - our first choice. somehow fully booked at our travel date.
2. Imperial Hotel
3. Pullman Hotel
4. Imperial Riverbank Hotel
5. Hilton Hotel
6. Hotel Margherita Hotel - within our budget and 2 double queen. suitable for us with 2 adult and 4 kids...hihi
7. Merdeka Place Hotel
8. Far from kuching town; Damai Resort, the culvert

10. santubong national park

I dont go to the most of the jungle places due to need to walk and hiking which dont suit with my kids.

I dont recommend Topspot as most of the restaurant are Chinese stall which might be not prefer by Muslim. Hence, to try local food, you may go to any restaurant during lunch time to try sarawak local dish.
